Built in 1889 Thornton Country Retreat is the original State School which has been tastefully restored to welcome guests is 22k's south of Laidley, between Ipswich and Toowoomba. The two-bedroomed suite is in the main house and boasts a queen sized bed in each room with access via French doors to the large screened veranda from one of the rooms and fabulous views of the garden and Great Dividing Range from the other. Soak away your troubles in the claw foot bath with bath bombs, fluffy towels and bathrobes provided. The separate cottage accommodation provides complete privacy and has rear and front screened verandas.
